When you think about the mission of Pfeiffer University, first and foremost is this idea of transformational experiences. The other key thing I think about our mission is seeing through three words; scholarship, spirituality, and service. Who we say we are through our mission today, links us back to the historical founding of the university.
You'll hear us talk often about Miss. Emily Prudden. This missionary from Connecticut, who came down to the foothills of the Carolinas in the late 19th century. And she was drawn to bring educational experiences to communities that she felt we're living without those opportunities. And one of those becomes the origin for what becomes Pfeiffer. But everything that is related to who we are now is built upon that foundation that Miss Emily Prudden started.
